Gateshead Junior Strings is a lively ensemble which welcomes string players of all ages; the playing standard is grade 1 to 5.

Staff

The orchestra  is directed by Miss J Thompson, Mrs E Evans, Mrs J Watson and Mr R Macdonald who are experienced string teachers from Gateshead Schools’ Music Service.

Membership

Joining Gateshead Junior Strings will provide the opportunity to meet like minded musicians, make new friends and work together in a friendly and supportive environment.

Repertoire

The Gateshead Junior Strings play a wide range of music, including pieces from both the classical and popular repertoire.

Rehearsals

The group rehearses each Thursday evening during term time from 4.15pm – 6.00pm at The Dryden Centre (please see Contact Us for a map)

Concerts and Events

The ensemble regularly performs in concerts and members are also offered the opportunity to take part in orchestral workshops.
