The Friends of the Gateshead Youth Orchestra is a Registered Charity No. 1118385. The group consists of parents and ensemble leaders whose aim is to fundraise, promote, and offer support to the Gateshead Youth Orchestra, Gateshead ensembles and their student members.

Our stated aims are:

TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG PERSONS IN GATESHEAD, PARTICULARLY THOSE IN FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, IN ALL  ASPECTS OF ORCHESTRAL MUSIC AND ITS PERFORMANCE BY PROVIDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR MUSICAL ACTIVITIES AND  ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF EDUCATIONAL VISITS, COURSES AND MATERIALS. 

The Friends act as hosts during concerts and raise funds throughout the year by various activities. Parents, carers, grandparents and friends who can offer time or skills to the charity are always very welcome to join us. We also rely on the donation of goods both from companies and individuals.  So, if you can help, please contact us.
