The Friends of Gateshead youth Orchestra is a charity which fundraises, promotes and offers support to The Gateshead Youth Orchestra, Gateshead ensembles and their members.

As you appreciate, the Youth Orchestra and ensembles rely heavily on the Friends for financial support for projects, to buy new equipment, fund recordings and reduce transport costs.  We also provide funding to reduce the cost of educational visits for all ensemble members and provide further funding for members whose parents have low incomes.

The need for financial support is growing by the year, as we respond to the requirements of the orchestra, ensembles and student members.

To address these needs we have decided to create a Patrons Scheme, which we hope all our families, friends and supporters will join.   Patronage directly supports the development of our young musicians and their ensembles.
